Embarking on the wonderful journey of writing

Even before starting The Karmarkar Times, in the summer of 2020, I have been passionate about writing. Throughout the years, I found myself less toward creative writing and poetry, and more oriented toward writing essays, research papers, and assignments with similar writing structures. However, recently I have found little inspiration lurking among the common dwellings of daily life, and have experienced writer's block time and time again.
If you, too, are experiencing similar conditions or simply wish to begin a new writing journey, hopefully, I can provide insightful advice.
Keep a journal
Wherever and whenever inspiration arises, never miss an opportunity to write the idea down. Even if the topic isn't, particularly of interest, you may be able to elaborate on it and create an intriguing story. Logging daily activities and experiences can also prove to be beneficial, and can contribute to your writing.
2. Explore different writing styles
While you may prefer one form of writing over others, exploring different writing styles and structures can help improve your versatility in writing and your ability to communicate effectively. Furthermore, doing so can also allow you to perhaps discover a new hobby or interest pertaining to the writing format. Try not to limit yourself to one style of writing, as it is always helpful to learn new skills!
3. Practice!
Similar to any other skill, in order to write effectively, whether that be writing stories, poems, essays, or reports, requires extensive practice. If you are interested in practicing writing skills, a positive benefit would be to write for at least ten minutes every day. If writing a short story, writing based on a prompt is a suitable place to start, or if journaling, you may wish to practice keeping a record of daily activities. However you may wish to improve upon your writing skills, today is the best time to begin.
