The Inside Scoop on Favorite Foods

Food is the nourishing love that transcends lifetimes and unites people of all cultures, nationalities, and ages. There are several foods to explore, each with its unique appearance, flavor, and texture. Exploring various foods is a true delight here at The Karmarkar Times headquarters, so we recently had members of the team complete a short survey inquiring about their overall food preferences. The following questions were included in the survey:
"What is your favorite taste?"
"Is the texture of the food as important as its taste?"
"In general, what is your favorite food?"
"What is your favorite fruit?"
"What is your favorite dessert?"
The above questions were followed by a question that raised controversy among the staff members, "Do pineapples belong on pizza?"
Favorite Taste
Among the members of The Karmarkar Times, sweet was the most favored taste, with 42.9% support, followed by sour and spicy, with 28.6% each. In fact, none of the other taste options, bitter and umami, were chosen as preferred taste options.
The Texture of the Food
57.1% of the members of The Karmarkar Times believed that the texture of food is not as important as the taste, while the remaining 42.9% thought otherwise. Overall, the percentages were rather close, and the question itself is a subjective manner that can easily be debated.
Favorite Food
For this survey question, participants were given eight various food options to choose from and were asked to select their favorite dish. The following options were included in this question: pizza, pasta, sandwich, samosa, dahi bhat (yogurt rice), paneer, noodles, and cheese. Paneer and samosa both received 28.6% of the vote, while cheese, pizza, and dahi bhat all received 14.3% each.
Favorite Fruit
Several fruit choices were given, and the question yielded some interesting results. While it was expected that mango would be the popular option, the mango option actually had the same percentage as pomegranate, each having 28.6% of the total vote. Orange, grapefruit, and lime all received 14.3%, collectively with nearly 43% of the general vote.
Favorite Dessert
Although there are numerous different dessert options available, our survey list was shortened to merely six options: cake, ice cream, cookie, sheera, keer, and frozen banana. Ice cream, keer, and frozen banana received 28.6% each, as compared to the remaining 14.3% secured by cake.
Do Pineapples Belong on Pizza?
For the final, and perhaps most controversial question in the entire survey, 57.2% of voters decided that pineapples are a violation of pizza, while the remainder disagreed. What do you think? Do pineapples deserve their place on pizza, or are they a disgrace to the dish?
